Minutes of the
Forest Preserve District Proceedings


June 20, 2001


The DeKalb County Forest Preserve Commissioners met at the DeKalb County Courthouse on Wednesday, June 20, 2001. Vice-President Hutcheson called the meeting to order and the Secretary called the roll. Those Commissioners present were Mrs. Allen, Mr. Barr, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Casella, Dr. Conway, Mr. Dlabal, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Guehler, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hoffman, Ms. LaVigne, Mrs. Leifheit, Mr. Lyle, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Metzger, Mr. Morreale, Mr. Sands, Mr. Simonson, Mr. Smith, Mr. Steimel, Mrs. Tobias, Mr. Wilson and Vice-President Hutcheson. One Commissioner, President Pritchard, was absent. Twenty-three Commissioners were present and one Commissioner was absent.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Mr. Haines moved to approve the Minutes of the May 16, 2001 meeting. Mrs. Leifheit seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The Vice-President called for a voice vote on the approval of the Minutes. All Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Mr. McLaughlin moved to approve the agenda and Mr. Barr seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The Vice-President called for a voice vote on the approval of the agenda. All Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

 

BUSINESS

Resolution 2001-57: Genoa School District Easement Agreement

Motion

Mr. Morreale moved to approve a Resolution to reach an agreement with the Genoa/Kingston School district #424 which includes as its terms the wishes of the Forest Preserve District as set forth in the Resolution. Mr. Simonson seconded the motion.

Friendly Amendment

Mr. Morreale clarified that the Forest Preserve will retain ownership of the Road.

Voice Vote

The Vice-President called for a voice vote on the approval of the Resolution. All Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Claims

Mr. Morreale moved to approve the current months Claims in the amount of $20,944.01 and Payroll & Emergency Claims paid from prior month in the amount of $19,847.62. Ms. LaVigne seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

The Vice-President called for a roll call vote on the Claims. Those Commissioners voting yea were Mrs. Allen, Mr. Barr, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Casella, Dr. Conway, Mr. Dlabal, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Guehler, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hoffman, Ms. LaVigne, Mrs. Leifheit, Mr. Lyle, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Metzger, Mr. Morreale, Mr. Sands, Mr. Simonson, Mr. Smith, Mr. Steimel, Mrs. Tobias, Mr. Wilson and Vice-President Hutcheson. All Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

 

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Morreale stated that Senator Burzynski has had much positive influence in Springfield to keep the MacQueen Forest Preserve project moving ahead.

 

ADJOURNMENT

Motion

Mr. Morreale moved to adjourn the meeting. Mrs. Allen seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The Vice-President called for a voice vote on the motion to adjourn. All Commissioners present voted yea.
