Forest Preserve Committee

The DeKalb Count Forest Preserve District Committee met Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the DeKalb County Administration Building in the East Conference Room, at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Metzger called the meeting to order with Mrs. DeFauw, Mrs. Fauci, Mr. Lyle, Mr. Rosemier and Mr. Gudmunson in attendance.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Moved by Mr. Lyle, seconded by Mrs. Fauci, the minutes were approved. All members were in favor, motion carried unanimously.

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Moved by Mr. Gudmunson, seconded by Mrs. DeFauw, it was carried unanimously to approve the agenda for the meeting.

 

FY 2005 BUDGET AND LEVY PUBLIC HEARING

Moved by Mr. Rosemier, seconded by Mr. Lyle, it was voted unanimously to open the public hearing. Mr. Metzger thanked Mr. Hannan for doing an excellent job in preparing the budget for FY 2005.

Mrs. Fauci moved, seconded by Mr. Gudmunson, and it was carried unanimously to close the public hearing.

 

FY 2004 YEAR END BUDGET AMENDMENTS

Following a brief discussion on the year end budget amendments, Mr.Metzger explained that $5,000 was held back for the Greenways and Trails Coalition. He added that $15,000 has been paid from a grant received from the IDNR. He explained that $3,000 is under special projects spent to cover expenses on the particular special project for which the grant was sought.

Moved by Mr. Rosemier, seconded by Mr. Lyle, it was agreed unanimously to hold a special meeting on November 17, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. to clarify this budget transfer.

 

GENERAL DISCUSSION

The Committee reviewed the month end report. Mr. Metzger stated that the Forest Preserve District just passed an inspection at MacQueen Forest Preserve to show compliance for a grant acquired from the IDNR under the Land and Water Open Space Acquisition.

Mrs. Fauci stated that the DeKalb County Greenways and Trails Coalition will have their next meeting on December 1, 2004 at the DeKalb City Hall. They will be discussing a habitat subcommittee for sensitive habitat areas.

 

ADJOURNMENT

Moved by Mrs. Fauci, seconded by Mrs. DeFauw, it was unanimous to adjourn the meeting.
