The DeKalb County Forest
Preserve District Committee met Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Conference
Room East at 6:00 p.m. In attendance were committee members, Mr. Anderson,
Mr. Gudmunson, Mr. Rosemier and Ms. Turner. Absent were committee members
Ms. Fauci, Mr. Lyle and Superintendent Mr. Hannan. Guest Greg Millburg was
also in attendance.
APPROVAL OF
MINUTES
Mr. Gudmunson, as Acting
Chair, asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of
the January 17, 2006 meeting. Hearing none, Mr. Rosemier moved to approve
the minutes as submitted, seconded by Mr. Anderson, and the motion passed
unanimously.
APPROVAL OF
AGENDA
Mr. Gudmunson noted that
in the absence of Ms. Fauci and Mr. Hannan, items #4 and #6 would have to be
postponed. Ms. Turned moved to approve the Agenda as amended, seconded by
Mr. Anderson, and the motion passed unanimously.
REVIEW OF
REFERENDUM INFORMATION BROCHURE
The committee then began
a thorough and painstaking review of the draft referendum brochure as
submitted by Ms. Fauci and Mr. Hannan. Items of particular focus dealt with
expressing the exact monetary impact of the referendum on the average
taxpayer as well as assuring that the brochure was completely free of any
political implications. Also of concern to the committee was the clear
communication of the intent of the current Commissioners that no land
be obtained through property seizure, but rather only through willing
sellers.
Following extensive
discussion, Mr. Rosemier volunteered to summarize the edits and provide a
new draft to the committee members by the next day. Ms. Turner noted that
the committee needed to keep aware of the deadlines involved with the
project.
COMMITTEE
MEMBER DISCUSSION
There were no items for
discussion at this time.
Mr. Anderson moved to
adjourn, seconded by Ms. Turner and the motion passed unanimously.
Attached are monthly
reports and Forest Preserve activities.
Respectfully submitted,
John Gudmunson, Vice
Chairperson
Forest Preserve District
Committee
