DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH Minutes of Executive Session September 26, 2006
Mrs. Grush reported that slow progress is being made in the Union negotiations; however, our attorney (Jill O’Brien) feels that we are making great progress, and the progress of our contract appears to be very standard for a first contract. A number of areas have been Tentatively Agreed (TAd) and many other areas are close conceptually. The most difficult areas are meetings during work hours, such as labor management or health and safety meetings.
Mrs. Grush is hopeful that we can finish non-economic issues in October and then proceed on to economic. She would like to have a contract by mid-year.
Mr. Wolf asked how often meetings are scheduled. Mrs. Grush responded that they met a couple times a month over the summer. Mr. Wolf asked if the meetings were long or short. Mrs. Grush responded that the after-hours meetings are short, adding that the main negotiator from AFCSME was on leave and things moved much quicker with her substitute.
Deborah Schelkopf, D.V.M., Secretary DeKalb County Board of Health
