CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Riddle called the meeting to order at 3:35 PM.

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:

Chairman Riddle, Leoni, Feithen, Suppeland, Rosemier. Hanson arrived at 3:55.

BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT:

            Young, Olson, Bowman

            One position is open with Russell resigning from the ETSB with his retirement from DeKalb Fire            Department in July.  That position will be filled for the September meeting.

GUESTS PRESENT

Al Newby, DeKalb County Sheriff Department; Jim Feyerherm, Starved Rock Communications, Lisa Miller, DeKalb Police Department, Jason Wright, NIU Police Department, Bruce Harrison, DeKalb Fire Department

AGENDA

The Chairman asked for any amendments to the agenda.  The motion was made by Rosemier and seconded by Suppeland to approve the agenda with these changes.  The motion passed.

MINUTES

A motion to approve the minutes of the July 2, 2008 meeting was made by Rosemier, at 4:00pm with the recommendation to change the date on the header of pages 2 through 4 and seconded by Hanson.  The motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report

·        Monthly Treasurers Report- was presented and discussed.

• A motion to approve monthly report was made by Suppeland and seconded by Rosemier.  Motion passed.

·        Bills Not Previously Submitted:

• None

Bills:

A motion to pay the bills was made by Hanson and seconded by Leoni.  A roll call vote was taken:  Leoni- Y, Feithen- Y, Rosemier- Y, Suppeland- Y, Hanson- Y, and Riddle- Y

Old Business

·        Fire Radio Reports

o       Feyerherm reported the following:

-         Feyerherm reported on the impact of the storm from 8-04-08

·     No major damage from the storm.  He provided some pictures of the damage. Somonauk tower struck by lightning.

-         Discussed Storm siren activation for the county and issues and options for the future

-         Possible new wireless carrier in Sycamore, Cricket Wireless and Jim would prefer to be involved if they use a 5.8 circuit

-         Somonauk water tower progressing

·        MABAS

o       Feyerherm reported the following:

§         He is still waiting for the receivers and anticipates project completion in August 2008. 

·        Private Switched ALI (PS ALI)

o       G. Johnson has started to review the lists.  She is also reviewing data from Verizon as far as the trunks that are to be terminated on the router from the different business to use to verify if the businesses are using PS ALI. A letter will be mailed to the qualifying entities that have not complied with the law. 

NEW BUSINESS

• Participating Agency Requests –  none

• PSAP Administrators' Report –

  • G. Johnson reported the meeting was held 7/09/08, at noon at one of the Sycamore conference rooms.  Discussion items were PSAP issues and SOP review.

• Persons to be Heard from the Floor -  none

• Coordinator’s Report – Johnson reported the following:

  • Verizon – SMART install- it is working but not sure the data is complete

• Worked on MSAG and ALI Database errors- Cleared all MSAG errors

• County phone system (Cisco)- working Gary and Al

• Meeting held with Verizon for quote.  Quote due 8/15/08

ADJOURNMENT

Rosemier moved to adjourn the meeting, and was seconded by Suppeland.    The motion passed.   The meeting adjourned at 4:25 P.M.
