The meeting opened at 7:05 pm with 9 members and 1 guest (Stephen Christian) from USMCL. A quorum is established.

Minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.

The checking account contains $1267.87 with no income or expenses this month.

Correspondence: Press release for the upcoming Fly In Drive In Veterans Appreciation weekend. Motion by Frank with 2nd by Mike (approved) There was a motion by Frank with 2nd by Mike that that bills of $5516.33 be paid.  Motion passed

Committee reports: 
Superintendent: See attached and also reported on meetings with county finance dept. concerning changes in the budget to allow for the hiring of 2 new employees.  It was determined it can be done if we hire one in July and one in the later part of the fiscal year.  A Ford Edge has been purchased from Brad Manning in DeKalb and is currently being used to transport veterans to and from medical appointments.  Herb attended the job fair in Belvedere Kiswaukee Truck driving school and Target warehouse were representatives from DeKalb County. There were approximately 100 booths.

1. Vetfair IV: will be August 8, 2008 at Kishwaukee College 9:30 am to 1 pm.
2. Bylaws: are being reviewed for possible changes and a vote would come up in June.
3. 3.Budget & Personnel: no report other than superintendents report.
4. Public relations: press releases being done by Frank and is attached to these minutes.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
