COUNTY FOREST PRESERVE 

November 18, 2009

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center on Wednesday October 21, 2009.  President Tobias called the meeting to order and the Clerk called the roll.  Those Commissioners present were Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen, Ken Andersen, Larry Anderson, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport and President Tobias.  Those Commissioners who were absent were Ms. Vary, Mr. Gudmunson, and Mr. Metzger.  Twenty-one Commissioners were present and three were absent.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Ms. LaVigne moved to approve the Minutes of the October 21, 2009.  Mrs. Turner seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The President asked for a voice vote on the approval of the Minutes.  All Commissioners voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

            Mrs. Turner moved to approve the agenda and Mr. Stuckert seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The President asked for a voice vote on the approval of the Agenda.  All Commissioners voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

BUSINESS

Ordinance 2009-16: Adoption of the Property Tax Levy for FY2010

Motion

Ms. Fauci moved to approve an Ordinance of the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District providing a tax levy for taxation year 2009 for FY2010 and is levied upon all of the taxable property within the corporate limits and the total sum being, one million, five hundred fifteen thousand dollars ($1,515,000).  Mrs. Turner seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The President asked for a voice vote on the Ordinance.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously. 

Ordinance 2009-15: Annual Appropriation for FY2010

Motion

Ms. Fauci moved to approve an Ordinance of the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District providing an Annual Appropriation for the period commencing January 1, 2010 and continuing through December 31, 2010 with the total revenue distributed in the amount of $1,592,000.  Mr. Haines seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The President asked for a voice vote on the Ordinance.  A majority of the Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried.

Claims

Ms. Fauci moved to approve the current month Claims in the amount of $7,735.28. Payroll Charges in the amount of $58,325.92 representing current claims and monies paid during the previous month that was not part of last month’s report, totaling $66,061.20.  Mr. Stuckert seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

The President called for a roll call vote on the Claims.  Those Commissioners voting yea were Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard., Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen, Ken Andersen, Larry Anderson, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport and President Tobias.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

The County Board Christmas party will be held at The Turner’s house on December 9, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.

            Ken Andersen moved to adjourn the meeting.  Ms. Fauci seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

The President asked for a voice vote on the approval on the motion.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.
