COUNTY FOREST PRESERVE PROCEEDINGS

May 19, 2010

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center Wednesday, May 19, 2010.  Vice-President Anderson called the meeting to order and the Clerk called the roll.  Those Commissioners present were Ken Andersen, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Gudmunson, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport, Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Ms. Vary, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen and Vice-President Anderson.  Those Commissioners absent were Mr. Metzger and Mrs. Tobias.  Twenty two Commissioners were present and two were absent.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Ms. Fauci moved to approve the Minutes of April 21, 2010.  Mr. Gudmunson seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

Vice-President Anderson asked for a voice vote on the approval of the Minutes.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

            Mrs. Turner moved to approve the agenda and Mrs. Dubin seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

Vice-President Anderson asked for a voice vote on the approval of the agenda.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously

Motion to Go Into Executive Session

            Ms. Fauci moved to go into an Executive Session.  Ken Andersen seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

Vice-President Anderson called for a roll call vote on the motion.  Those Commissioners voting yea were, Ken Andersen, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Gudmunson, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport, Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Ms. Vary, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen and Vice-President Anderson.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion to Return to the Open Meeting

            Ms. Fauci moved to return to the open meeting and Mrs. Turner seconded the motion.

Vice-President Anderson called for a roll call vote on the motion.  Those Commissioners voting yea were, Ken Andersen, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Gudmunson, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport, Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Ms. Vary, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen and Vice-President Anderson.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

Resolution R2010-30: Land Acquisition

Motion

Ms. Fauci moved to approve a Resolution to acquire the 60 acre Hoppe property adjacent to Russell Woods Forest Preserve and enter an agreement with the owners to acquire the 5 acre farmstead for $147,000.00 and 55 acres for $126,500.00 with the total cost of $273,500.00 and, the owners agreed to first right of refusal on the remaining 100 acres if sold in the future.  Mr. Hines seconded the motion.

Vice-President Anderson called for a roll call vote on the Resolution.  Those Commissioners voting yea were, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Gudmunson, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport, Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Ms. Vary, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen and Vice-President Anderson.  One Commissioner voted nay, Ken Andersen.  Twenty one Commissioners voted yea and one voted nay.  Motion carried.

CLAIMS

Motion

Ms. Fauci moved to approve the current month Claims in the amount of $37,637.75.  Payroll charges in the amount of $44,270.34 representing current claims and monies paid during the previous month that were not part of last month’s report, totaling $81,908.09.  Mrs. Turner seconded the motion.

Vice-President Anderson called for a roll call vote on the claims.  Those Commissioners voting yea were, Ken Andersen, Mr. Augsburger, Mr. Chambliss, Mrs. De Fauw, Mrs. Dubin, Mr. Emerson, Ms. Fauci, Mr. Gudmunson, Mr. Haines, Mr. Hulseberg, Ms. LaVigne, Mr. Newport, Mr. Oncken, Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Stuckert, Mr. Todd, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Tyson, Ms. Vary, Mr. Walt, Mrs. Allen and Vice-President Anderson.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT

Ms. Fauci moved to adjourn the meeting and Mrs. Turner seconded the motion.

The Vice-President called for a voice vote on the adjournment.  All Commissioners present voted yea.  Motion carried unanimously.
