NOVEMBER 14, 2011

The meeting started at 7:00 with President Rich Joslin calling the meeting to order.  There were 10 members in attendance. Frank Beierlotzer led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to start off the meeting.  The minutes of the previous meeting were read and Don Jones made the motion to accept the minutes as read and this was seconded by Frank Beierlotzer.  The minutes were approved.  John Davis gave the corporation financial report and there is $1405.12 in the account.  Steve Walz made the motion to accept the report and this was seconded by Don Jones.  The report was approved.

Herb Holderman gave the superintendants report.  We helped 27 veterans with food, 24 with shelter and 21 with utilities.  We transported 14 veterans to various VA Hospitals.  To date this year, we have had 45 claims promulgated for a total of $114,522.00 in monthly benefits and retroactive monetary benefits of $696,883.00.  Steven Scoughton has been appointed to the chairmanship of the IACVAC Education and Training Committee.  Herb has been appointed to Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee.  As of now, we are $37,000 over budget and next month we can expect to go another $30,000 in the red.  Most of this was caused by the purchase of a new vehicle.  Next year, Herb has dropped our budget from $550,500 to $470,000.

Frank Beierlotzer informed us about Freezing for Food.  It is a program that asks the public to donate food to the Salvation Army Food Pantry for needy families.

Don Jones made the motion to pay the commissions bills totaling $29,951.34. This was seconded by Frank.  The bills will be paid.   Frank made the motion for members of the commission to keep their jobs for another year.  This motion was seconded by Don and the motion was passed.  Frank also made the motion to give all the employees a 2% raise and this was seconded by Don.  The motion passed.

Steve made the motion to adjourn at 7:21 and this was seconded by Don.  We were adjourned.

Respectfully Submitted

Steve Walz, Secretary
