Minutes

January 18, 2012

            The DeKalb County Finance Committee met on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 @ 6:58p.m., in the Legislative Center’s Freedom Room.  Chairman Scott Newport called the meeting to order.  Members present were Larry Anderson, Charles Foster, John Gudmunson, John Hulseberg, Stephen Reid, Ruth Anne Tobias, Paul Stoddard and Ms. Fullerton.  Others present were Mark Todd and Gary Hanson.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES

            Moved by Mr. Anderson, seconded by John Gudmunson, and the motion was carried unanimously to approve the minutes from November 2011.

 APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

            Moved by Mr. Hulseberg, seconded by Ms. Fullerton, and the motion was carried unanimously to approve the agenda.

TAX DEED RESOLUTION – MR. MARK TODD, DEKALB COUNTY TREASURER

Mr. Todd, DeKalb County Treasurer, presented a Delinquent Property Tax Sale Resolution to the committee. This is another tax deed, like the ones the county board has approved in 2011, said Mr. Todd.  Again this resolution authorizes the Chairman of the DeKalb County Board to execute a deed of conveyance of the County’s interest or authorize the cancellation of the appropriate Certificate of Purchase, as the case may be (parcel #06-33-400-039-0013C), for the sum of $144.84 to be paid to the Treasurer of DeKalb County, Illinois, to be disbursed according to law.

Moved by Mr. Stoddard, seconded by Ms. Tobias, and it was carried unanimously to forward this recommendation to the full board for approval.

Before adjourning, Mr. Foster said that he would like the Finance Committee to take a look at the budget process again.  He would like to review how the process works and see if there is a way to improve it or not.

Mr. Stoddard and Mr. Gudmunson said that they both felt it was a good idea to look at it.

 ADJOURNMENT

It was moved by moved by Mr. Anderson, seconded by Ms. Fullerton, to adjourn.  Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
