DEKALB COUNTY VETERANS ASSISTANCE COMMISSION
APRIL 9, 2012
The meeting started at 7:00 with President Rich Joslin presiding. There were 15 members in
attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and Don Jones made the motion to accept
the minutes and this was seconded by Jim Cox. The minutes were approved. John Davis gave the
corporation treasurers report and there is a balance of $1545.12 in the account. Don Jones made the
motion to accept the report and this was seconded by Jim Cox. The report was approved.
Herb Holderman gave the superintendents report. The commission helped 36 veterans with food, 21
with shelter and 20 with utilities. We also took 15 veterans to various VA Hospitals. We helped get 6
veterans back pay totaling $6866.00 and retro pay totaling $67,978.00. There were 47 veterans that
came into the office for assistance and Steve Scoughton and Tammy Anderson met 10 veterans at
various out stations. Don Jones made the m()tion to pay the commissions bills' totaling $38018.83 and
this was seconded by Jim Cox. The bills will be paid.
Don made the motion to adjourn at 7:25. We were adjourned.
