DEKALB COUNTY VETERANS ASSISTANCE COMMISSION FEBRUARY 13, 2012
The meeting started at 7:00 with President Rich Joslin calling the meeting to order. There were 13 members in attendance. Frank Beierlotzer led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Victor Ingram was introduced as he is representing DeKalb VFW Post 2287. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and Don Jones made the motion to accept the minutes as read. This was seconded by Bob McDonald. The minutes were approved. John Davis gave the corporation treasurers report and there is $1470.12 in the account. Don Jones seconded the report and the report was approved.
Herb Holderman gave the superintendents report. Last month, we helped 29 veterans with food, 26 with shelter, and 21 with utilities. There were 16 trips to various VA facilities transporting 20 veterans. We also helped 2 veterans receive $1707.00 in pay and retro pay totaling $35,255.00. The commission spent $32,090.43 for the month. Frank Beierlotzer made the motion to accept the superintendent’s report and this was seconded by Don Jones. The report was approved. Don then made a motion to pay the bills totaling $32,090.43 and this was seconded by Victor Ingram. The bills will be paid.
There isn’t any further information on the doll house. Frank mentioned that we need a person in charge of personnel. Jim Cox was elected to that position. Steve Walz made the motion to adjourn at 7:20, and this was seconded by Don Jones. We were adjourned.
