DEKALB COUNTY VETERANS ASSISTANCE COMMISSION
October 10, 2012

The meeting started at 7:00 with President Rich Joslin calling the meeting to order. There were 11 members in attendance.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and Don Jones seconded the minutes. The minutes were approved. John Davis gave the corporation financial report and there is $1546.00 in the account, the report was seconded by Vic Ingram. The report was approved.

Superintendents report; Herb Holderman says we assisted 31 veterans with food and utilities and 24 with shelter. We also brought into the county $11,217.00 in monthly benefits and $188,644.00 in retroactive benefits in the month of September. The bills for the month, including wages, are $38,652.71. Don Jones made the motion to pay the bills and this was seconded by Frank Beierlotzer. The motion was approved.

Frank Beierlotzer reported on the Veterans Day ceremonies and the dedication at the courthouse. He also reminded us that the flags at the courthouse are to be changed that day. Also mentioned were the free oil change by local service stations and auto repair shops and the Collins dental group is giving free exams and minor repairs to the first 100 vets to sign up.

Steve Kreitzer made a presentation on CMS grants for computers and other office equipment—Frank made a motion to pursue this seconded by Bob. Motion carried.

The dollhouse was brought up--- the superintendent will try to get in touch with Lee Newtson to get them back.

Don Jones made the motion to adjourn at 7:23 and this was seconded by Vic.
